After successful tests in 2023, Slovakia is now considering the introduction of the front stop light for passenger cars and trucks as an optional equipment component. According to the Czech website Novinky.cz, the proposal, put forward by National Council deputy Michal Bartek (Voice - Social Democrats), has been included in the amendment to the Road Transport Act.
The Advantage
.The main advantage of the system is better communication between pedestrians and drivers, as pedestrians waiting at the crosswalk can see in advance that the car is starting to brake.
The company that proposed this solution
.In 2022, the Slovak company Lumaco Innovations attracted attention with its idea to introduce a green front brake on cars, which it also patented at European level. The main purpose of this accessory was to increase safety on the roads, as tests in 2023 in the regions of Trencin and Zilina were to prove, in which the green light was installed in more than 3,000 cars, which together covered more than 38 million kilometres. In both regions, the number of accidents decreased on average by 12 per cent, while in the surrounding regions by only 0.51 per cent.
