Smart, the interior of saloon #6

After the exterior images of its first #6 sedan, Smart has also released official photos of the interior. Smart's saloon is a really big car, and not just by the standards of the brand which, as is well known, is 50/50 owned by the Chinese of Geely and Mercedes. At 4906 mm, it is almost as long as two first-generation ForTwos. It will go on sale in China by the middle of the year, with Europe to follow. The #6 EHD is scheduled to make its public debut at the Beijing Auto Show in Beijing where it will be joined by the long-awaited concept of the more compact X2.

Featuring a dual-screen configuration consisting of a central touchscreen and a screen for front passenger entertainment, the #6 additionally offers a 20-speaker audio system with a peak power output of more than 2,000 W, complemented by a floating centre-lift speaker. Almost 800 lighting points inside plus 26 ambient lighting zones offering 256 colours. The seats have quilted composite workmanship and Nappa leather upholstery. The interior is available in three colours: Yellow, Black and Brown.

The #6 EHD is equipped with variable damping dampers, Continental EC7S high-performance tyres and ZF closed-loop steering control technology. The rear end also features an electrically adjustable spoiler. The powertrain is plug-in hybrid, but will also be offered in electric mode at a later date. The 1.5-litre turbocharged engine delivers 161 hp, while the combined output reaches 429 hp. There are two battery options up to a maximum of 41.46 kWh and a range of 1,810 km. The 3-speed gearbox is specifically for hybrid systems.
