Google drops a trio of August aces and unveils the new Pixel family of smartphones. The novelty, widely anticipated by the rumours of the past weeks, is the new Tensor 4 chip and Pixel Pro XL with a 6.8-inch display and a price tag of over a thousand euros.
But also this time - we are in the era of Ai phones - the focus is on the new artificial intelligence features: Gemini Live debuts as a personal assistant to govern one's smartphone with the voice. The promise - which is also that of Siri for Apple Intelligence - is a new form of interaction with the services and data of our mobile phone.
Gemini Live (for now only in English) will not be free of charge but will be offered within Gemini Advanced, Google's most advanced Ai that is accessed with the Google One plan. As for smartphones, Google confirms the change of pace that we had already seen with the Pixel 8 and is aiming at more and more powerful and durable devices. Apple is more and more in their sights and they are not hiding it.
The new Pixel 9 family
.It starts with the new G4 Tensor chip. The G3 on the Pixel 8 had all in all disappointed in terms of performance. With this new chip Google returns to the more traditional Octa-Core architecture, but rather than a revolution we expect a positive evolution from the past.
