Smartphones, the new Pixel 9 family arrives. All the new features and prices

Basically, if you take pictures to get inspiration for a gift, the app organises the screenshots to help you choose. Another new feature is the re-design of Pixel's Weather app with Gemini Nano that will generate a customised weather report with AI to give you an idea of the day's weather.

The new function is called 'add me' and will be released as a preview on Pixel. Basically, you can take pictures in which you are in it.

The typical example is the group photo where the one who takes it is always missing. You can now take one with the group and then take another with the one who took it. Pixel combines the two photos. Using the Best Shot feature, you can combine similar shots to create a great group photo that pleases everyone. Also enhanced is Magic Editor, the magic eraser, which can automatically correct the framing of your photos and suggest the best way to crop them.

For the first time, the Pro is available in two different sizes: Pixel 9 Pro (6.3") and Pixel 9 Pro XL (6.8") . Basically, therefore, the screen size, charging times and power change, otherwise they have identical features.

They therefore have a triple rear camera and a 42Mp front camera. Only on the Pro, however, the Video Boost function processes Night Videos twice as fast once they are loaded, takes advantage of the 48MP telephoto lens with 5x zoom to record up to 20x high resolution videos thanks to High Resolution Video Zoom. It can also bring the resolution up to 8K. The starting price here is €1,099, the same as the Pixel 8 Pro.

The aim is to conquer the mid- to high-end segment. They have improved the 6.3-inch Actua display, which should be 35 per cent brighter than the Pixel 8. The cameras do not change compared to the more expensive models. The ultrawide lens thus goes from 12MP on the Pixel 8 to 48MP on the Pixel 9. The price is still high, however, and starts at EUR 899.

Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL are available in Obsidian Black, Clay Grey, Green Grey and Quartz Pink for pre-sale at the Google Store, Amazon, MediaWorld and Unieuro starting at EUR 899, EUR 1099 and EUR 1199.

Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL will then be available for purchase from 22 August at Google Store, Amazon, MediaWorld, Unieuro and Vodafone. Pixel 9 Pro will instead be available from September at all partners and Google Stores.

The smartwatch made in Google is now available in two sizes of 41 mm and 45 mm. Battery life is 24 hours with always-on display. New for athletes with advanced features for running and planning workouts.

As for the Pixel Bud Pro 2, they are smaller and lighter thanks to the new Tensor A1 chip. And they should also process sound better. A swivel stabiliser has been incorporated during training to make these earbuds more stable and more comfortable.
