South Korea: military exercises with the US scaled back following criticism from Trump

The South Korean military has announced that the exercises, which began on Monday, will end on Friday rather than on 27 August as planned. On Sunday, Trump had criticised these annual exercises between the two countries, arguing that they sent “a completely inappropriate and hostile signal” to North Korea.
