Sportface TV, the platform that brings all sports to centre stage
In the Italian sports media landscape, a reality is emerging that is capable of redefining the way sport is told. Sportface TV, an OTT platform born in 2024 from the integration of Sportface.it and the media-tech company Nexting, is building a digital environment in which disciplines less celebrated by the mainstream finally find space, continuity and modern narratives. The objective is clear: to offer the federations a stable, technologically advanced media home built on the languages of the new generations, guaranteeing total accessibility and gratuitousness.
Sportface TV does not limit itself to proposing a thematic channel, but configures itself as a true digital hub dedicated to Italian sports federations. The catalogue is constantly growing and includes live broadcasts, on-demand content, reports, editorial specials and original formats produced together with the federal structures. The disciplines present - from athletics to gymnastics, from shooting to fencing, from taekwondo to sport climbing, and even motor sports with ACI Sport - represent an extremely rich, young and narratively fertile universe, often neglected by traditional networks.
Paris 2024, the international debut
The platform experienced its first great test of maturity at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, recounting Casa Italia up close, talking to the Italian athletes and bringing online the human and everyday side of the Olympic experience. Interviews, backstage and spontaneous content built an authentic story, enhanced by the presence of ambassadors and well-known faces such as Giorgia Rossi, Federica Zille, Giuseppe Pastore, Andrew Howe, Vanessa Ferrari and Asia D'Amato. The fresh and people-friendly tone has intercepted in particular the younger audience and the emerging sports communities.
Growth in 2025
During 2025 Sportface TV has consolidated its role by expanding its offer, involving twelve federations and significantly increasing original formats, live broadcasts and special contents. The numbers confirm this growth: more than 300,000 registered users, 21 minutes average time per event - a very high figure by digital standards - and more than 4.6 million views for live content. These are indicators that tell of a solid relationship with the community and a long and attentive enjoyment, an essential basis for the sustainability of the project.
Towards 2026: a new dimension, between Casa Italia and Prime Video
The year 2026 will represent a further turning point. Sportface TV will have twelve federations on board and will inaugurate a new television studio inside Casa Italia, CONI's hospitality house. A stable presence in a symbolic place of Italian sport, designed to produce daily content, dialogue with the athletes and create a constant flow of original narratives.
It is in this context that the collaboration with Amazon Prime Video will be announced, which will open the platform to an even wider audience and consolidate the multi-platform distribution model. The Winter Olympic edition will be a privileged showcase: each federation involved will find space in the programming, actively participating in the construction of the daily story of the Games and showing the richness of its disciplines at international level.
A free and accessible model
Free of charge remains one of the pillars of the project. Sportface TV is accessible via the web or via iOS and Android apps, with no paywall and no subscriptions. Full access to content requires only registration, designed to enhance the sporting passions of each user. The business model is based on vertical sponsorships, targeted advertising formats and editorial projects developed in collaboration with commercial partners, in line with the logic of digital-first broadcasters, where value comes from engagement and communities.
Restoring visibility to sports that don't make noise
The strength of Sportface TV lies in its ability to bring back to the centre what for years has remained on the margins: less exposed disciplines, emerging athletes, national and international competitions often invisible to the general public, popular and institutional content produced directly with the federations. The platform does not simply distribute videos, but contributes to the cultural growth of Italian sport, reinforcing its educational and social role.
Alongside the editorial vision is the technological one of Nexting, already a Preferred Partner in production for Sky Italia, La7, Rai, Mediaset and Gruppo Sole 24 Ore, which has introduced advanced remote production processes capable of reducing costs and complexity, making the coverage of events sustainable, which would otherwise require investments not compatible with less commercial disciplines. It is an innovation that democratises sports production and enables federations to fulfil their public service mission more effectively.
Sportface TV is establishing itself as a reference point for fans, federations and operators in the sector: a project that combines innovation, responsibility and sustainability, opening a new season for Italian sports communication.
