Spotify Wrapped 2024, Geolier and Taylor Swift most listened to artists of the year
The Neapolitan rapper tops in Italy ahead of Sfera Ebbasta and Lazza, the American pop star in the world. Among podcasts, 'true crime' prevails

Wrapped 2024, here at home, was the year of Geolier while internationally once again won Taylor Swift. They are the most listened to artists on Spotify, the leading streaming platform, according to evidence from Wrapped 2024, the campaign celebrating a year of music and podcasts listened to by more than 640 million users worldwide. While, as far as podcasts are concerned, for the second year in a row Elisa True Crime by Elisa De Marco prevails.
On the podium Geolier, Sfera Ebbasta and Lazza
Let's start with music. Geolier takes the title of most listened to artist with over 1.2 billion streams, also by virtue of his successful participation in Sanremo. Also firmly on the podium is Sfera Ebbasta who, after three consecutive years at the top of the Wrapped chart, is in second place this year. In third and fourth place are Lazza and Tedua. Closing in fifth place is Anna, who, among female artists, is the most listened to female artist in Italy for the second year running, confirming the dominance of rap in the Italian music scene regardless of genre.
The song chart confirms, if proof were needed, the importance of Sanremo as a trend setter: in first place we find the Sanremo hit I p' me, tu p' te Geolier, with over 100 million listens, followed by Come un tuono by Rose Villain with the feat. of Guè. In third place is Tuta Gold by Mahmood, also released during the February music festival, while fourth place goes to 100 messages by Lazza. The top 5 closes with Tony Effe's Sesso e samba with a feat by Gaia, the Roman trapper's summer hit, which consolidates its success in this chart, boasting three tracks in the top 10. Despite the dominance of national music, Gata Only by Chileans FloyyMenor and Cris Mj won over Italian users, placing seventh.
Among the albums, Geolier was still very popular, confirming its God knows it as the most listened to album of 2024 in Italy. In second place was Icon by Tony Effe, followed by Vera Baddie by ANNA in third place, which established itself as the most listened to album by an Italian artist. Fourth and fifth place instead for La Divina Commedia by Tedua and I Nomi del Diavolo by Kid Yugi which confirm the dominance of urban.
The 'international outlook' of Italian music was also interesting: Måneskin obviously confirmed themselves as the most listened to Italian artists abroad for the third consecutive year. They are followed by Meduza in second place and Gabry Ponte in third. Also in the top 10 were Laura Pausini, in sixth place, and a Raffaella Carrà driven by the TV series Raffa, in ninth, who stand out as the two most listened to Italian female artists on Spotify outside Italy.
