Her name was Mara Severin, she was 31 years old and a sommelier: she died in the collapse of the roof of the starred restaurant 'Essenza' in the centre of Terracina, in the province of Latina, where she worked. After the collapse at around 10pm on Monday, 7 July, the young woman was injured along with another dozen or so staff and customers, three of whom are in a reserved prognosis and all of whom ended up in the Fiorini hospital in Terracina.
The Latina Public Prosecutor's Office ordered the seizure of the premises, with the investigation coordinated by Prosecutor Giuseppe Miliano, and opened a file for manslaughter and grievous bodily harm, currently against unknown persons.
"The restaurant had undergone maintenance work inside and out in January 2025. Suddenly, last night at 10pm, the ceiling in one part of the restaurant, the area to the left of the restaurant, collapsed. The cause of the collapse is still unknown, but sommelier Mara Severin was at that exact spot'. Thus in a note the Essenza restaurant.
