Stellantis: 9 concept cars and plenty of shared technology
The group is preparing a major presence at the Paris Motor Show, which is due to take place from 12 to 18 October. In addition to the concept cars, 60 vehicles from eight brands will also be on display.
The Stellantis Group will present nine concept cars at the Paris Motor Show (12–18 October), signalling a desire to accelerate its stylistic renewal, alongside 60 vehicles from eight brands. At the Paris Motor Show, the head of design will outline the group’s new design strategy, which aims to maintain distinct identities across the brands whilst, at the same time, leveraging the strategic technology platform on a broader scale and through the sharing of resources.
The most eagerly awaited concepts
Peugeot will be showcasing the Polygon concept and Hypersquare technology, alongside the new E-208 GTi. Citroën is previewing a car inspired by one of the most iconic models in its history: the new 2CV. Meanwhile, Alfa Romeo is revealing what its upcoming new compact SUV will look like. But Stellantis’ challenge in Paris is not just about design. A central role will be played by STLA One, the technology platform that integrates software, artificial intelligence and vehicle electronics architectures to provide a broader technological foundation.
The multi-energy strategy
For Stellantis, this will mean reducing development times and costs, speeding up the launch of new models and rolling out software and advanced technologies to a wider audience. For consumers, the result should be a wider range of vehicles, and, above all, one that is less tied to a single power source. Electric and hybrid vehicles will continue to coexist within a multi-energy strategy that Stellantis considers essential at a time when demand, infrastructure and regulations are evolving at different rates across different markets.
The new Lancia range
Perhaps the most significant development for the Italian market will be the new Lancia Gamma. This model marks the brand’s return to the crossover segment and represents one of the key steps in Lancia’s relaunch. Designed, developed and manufactured in Italia at the Melfi plant on the STLA Medium platform (the same as that used for the Jeep Compass and Peugeot 3008), the new Gamma features a fastback body style, with particular attention paid to aerodynamics, interior space and versatility.
Other important news.
The Grizzly and Grizzly Fastback are set to make their debut in Paris: two complementary SUVs with which the Italian brand is targeting the needs of families. Space, practicality and versatility will be the key features of a range designed to offer a choice between two different body styles.
