Stellantis: Cappellano (Head of Europe), Central Italia – a role for every site
"In Europe, our strategic plan translates into a very concrete commitment: around 40% of global investment will be allocated to the region, with the aim of growing revenues by 15% by 2030." This was emphasised by Emanuele Cappellano, Head of Europe at Stellantis. "We will do this," he said, "by strengthening our brands, expanding our range, improving cost competitiveness and increasing the utilisation of production capacity. All this in a particularly challenging context: +25% market coverage."
In this context, Italia plays a central role. The signs are already encouraging: growing demand, an increase in market share, rising production and a reduction in furloughs at several plants. We anticipate new models, investment in innovation, the involvement of all Italian brands and, crucially, no plant closures.
"Each site will play a specific role in our industrial vision: from affordable electric vehicles in Pomigliano, to commercial vehicles in Atessa, to industrial innovation in Mirafiori, right through to the development of premium and luxury models in Modena, Melfi and Cassino," he added.
Prior to their meeting with Cappellano, the sectoral trade unions called for clarity and reassurances regarding all plants, with a view to safeguarding jobs.
