Stellantis: Fim-Cisl, up 28.3 per cent to 340,745 vehicles in nine months; 2026 forecast at around 450,000
A recovery in volumes compared with the ‘disastrous year’ of 2025
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - , 6 Oct - Stellantis’ production figures for the first nine months confirm a recovery in volumes compared with the dismal year of 2025, with an overall increase of 28.3 per cent to 340,745 units, comprising passenger cars and commercial vehicles, compared with 265,490 units in the same period of 2025. This is according to the quarterly report by Fim Cisl. In particular, passenger car production rose by 36.7 per cent to 206,945 units, whilst commercial vehicle production recovered from the slight decline in the first half of the year and grew by 17.3 per cent to 133,800 units. According to the report, production levels in 2026 will be higher than those in 2025, but will stand at around 450,000 vehicles in total, with passenger cars accounting for over 250,000. “This figure is less positive than forecast, particularly due to the decline observed in the final phase of 500 production, caused by production stoppages resulting from a shortage of materials and a fall in orders, which led to a request for two weeks of Cassa Integrazione in October,” said Ferdinando Uliano, general secretary of Fim-Cisl, during the presentation. “The only car assembly plant showing a decline compared with 2025 is Cassino. The situation at the Lazio site is becoming increasingly dire, with a 37.1 per cent decline,” said Uliano, emphasising that, in the car sector, “new production of the Jeep Compass at Melfi and the 500 hybrid at Mirafiori, together with the continued strength of the Fiat Panda, have contributed to growth in production, making up for the losses recorded in 2025, although production volumes have not returned to those of previous years, nor to those of 2024”.
