A pre-agreement was signed at the Stellantis plant in Pomigliano d'Arco (Naples) between the company and the unions (Fim, Uilm, Fismic, Ugl and Aqcf) for the extension for one year of the solidarity contracts (Cds) for the 3,750 workers at the plant, which will start on 8 September. The pre-agreement envisages an average reduction in working hours of up to 75 per cent for the personnel concerned, preparatory to the formalisation of the final agreement at the Ministry. During the meeting, the unions also obtained the signing of a joint minute with the company management to request a meeting with the Campania Region and obtain income support, aimed at guaranteeing participation in the training courses envisaged under the Cds, an issue that will also be brought to the ministerial table.

Recourse to solidarity, according to the findings, is motivated by the continuing downturn and uncertainty in the automotive sector. For Aniello Guarino, Fim provincial secretary, solidarity, however, 'cannot and must not become a structural solution. It is an instrument of defence, not ordinary management'.

Stellantis, a Termoli contratto di solidarieta' per i 2.000 dipendenti

'The renewed request by Stellantis to resort to further social shock absorbers in several important plants of the group confirms the serious market difficulties throughout 2025,' underlined Ferdinando Uliano, secretary general of Fim Cisl, stressing the particularly critical situation in Termoli, where 'both the stop to investments on the Giga Factory and the drop in engine production weigh heavily. The reductions in volumes that are negatively affecting production at Pomigliano are worrying,' he added, 'as is the serious condition of the Cassino plant. Finally, strong questions remain about the impact of the new production planned in Melfi'.
