Stellantis: Urso says production has been on the rise since December, with the plan’s effects now becoming apparent
Filosa’s debate with Parliament tomorrow
The results of the Stellantis plan for Italia "are beginning to show" because "since December, there have been increases in production at Italian plants and there has been a reversal of the trend": "This means that the plan is being implemented". This was stated by the Minister for Enterprise and Made in Italy following Stellantis’ announcement to the trade unions of a €5 billion investment in innovation in Italia by 2030, and on the eve of CEO Antonio Filosa’s hearing before the relevant Chamber of Deputies and Senate committees for industry and productive activities.
Stellantis, he continued on the sidelines of the Assarmatori conference, "will face Parliament tomorrow, and it is only right that it should listen to what Parliament has to say": "I believe it is important for everyone to understand that investment in Italia and Europe is subject to European rules which, thanks to our efforts, will need to be changed. Technological neutrality, a review of the CO2 regulation, the Industrial Accelerator Act – which introduces the concept of ‘Made in Europe’ for cars as well – and a review of the ETS are all key issues for making investment, production and employment sustainable".
Urso added that he would convene the automotive sector roundtable “in the coming weeks” to “outline its objectives”, noting that the Government has invested €1.3 billion in the sector through innovation agreements, development contracts and direct incentives.
