It starts with the classic automotive sector and congresses but, in the future, all opportunities to grow and promote Italian production chains abroad will be evaluated.
Fiera Milano and Italian Exhibition Group (trade fairs of Rimini and Vicenza) have entered into a strategic alliance that sees as its first act the acquisition from Andrea Martini's Mosaico Capital of 70% of Emac, a company specialised in the organisation of trade fair events for the classic automotive industry. Following the corporate reorganisation, the two exhibition groups each have 35% of the shares, while the remaining 30% remains with Andrea Martini.
Phase One: the synergy between events
.The aim of the operation is the synergic and strategic management of the two sector events held by Emac: AutoClassica, held in Fiera Milano in the autumn (the 15th edition will be from 21 to 23 November), and Vicenza Classic Car Show, scheduled in the spring in the Veneto city (the third edition will be held from 28 to 30 March 2026).
But the Emac operation is only the first step of an alliance that aims to overcome the historical fragmentation of the Italian trade fair system, focusing on a vertical type of collaboration: 'The objective is not to integrate the governance of two different companies, which are each a great resource for their own territory, but to work in a joint and shared way on products,' explains Fiera Milano's CEO, Francesco Conci. 'By putting together the management of our best events, it is possible to assume an adequate and competitive dimension of our products on international markets, capable of competing with already consolidated events.
The operation has a strategic value that goes beyond the size of the two events involved in the first 'step', as IEG's CEO Corrado Peraboni explains: 'On international markets there is a great concentration of trade fair operators. It is clear that, in Italy, such concentrations are not possible, so the way to go to compete with foreign players is to create vertical alliances, on individual industries and tomorrow, why not, on individual markets".
