Summer centres, working mothers, Dedicated to you card, here are the measures for the family in the manoeuvre
Bonuses for female workers and enhanced leave also arrive.
Key points
An increase in the monthly subsidy for working mothers with more than two children, a change in the Isee rate that will allow greater access to social and municipal services, a bonus for school books and parity schools, a fund to help separated parents rent a new home, refinancing of the 'dedicated to you' card for the poorest, and resources to set up summer centres for children and the elderly. These are some of the measures dedicated to families contained in the Budget Law now approaching the final finish line in the Chamber of Deputies.
Working Mums Bonus
Among the chapters with the most funds is the bonus for working mothers. However, they must have at least two children and an annual Isee income not exceeding 40,000 euro: the age of the youngest cannot exceed 10 years, but if there are three or more children, the threshold rises to 18 years. The contribution is increased and in 2026 it rises from 40 to 60 euros per month. In the manoeuvre's account, this is among the biggest interventions: alone it is worth 630 million. A contribution exemption of up to 24 months is also envisaged for the hiring of female workers with at least three children.
Changes in leave and Isee
Among the changes introduced is the extension of optional parental leave up to the child's 14th birthday and the doubling of sick leave for children from 5 to 10 days. The mechanisms for calculating the Isee, taking into account the number of children, change in a favourable direction for families. Moreover, the value of the first house, which is not to be considered in the calculation, rises: it rises from the current 52,500 euro to 91,500 euro, a value that rises again up to 120,000 euro for families living in the capital municipalities of the 14 Italian metropolitan cities.
Carta Dedicata a te e Assegno d'inclusione
On the other hand, the refinancing of the Fund for the purchase of basic foodstuffs to be used through the 'Dedicated to you' card is worth 500 million. Some novelties are also planned for the inclusion allowance. Currently, after receiving it for 18 months, there is a one-month pause before being able to apply for it for another year. The manoeuvre has cancelled the one-month break, although in the first month of renewal the amount is halved.
Chapter School and University
The school chapter contains two interventions for families with an Isee up to 30,000 euro. The first is an annual bonus of up to 1,500 euro for each student attending a parish secondary school or the first two years of a parish secondary school. There are, however, decreasing brackets as income rises. The second aid is the allocation of EUR 30,000 for a bonus to help buy school books. Then there are new resources for the Erasmus fund to activate scholarships for university students participating in these exchanges.
