Supplementary Pensions 2026: new Ministry of Labour portal online, news on severance pay and pension funds
The aim is to accompany citizens in their supplementary pension path, in particular new employees for whom the Budget Law 2026 has provided for a 60-day silence-consent mechanism from 1 July next for the conferral of severance pay to pension funds
The complementary pension portal created by the Ministry of Labour, with the collaboration of the National Youth Council and Mefop to accompany citizens in their supplementary pension path is now active.
As is well known, the Budget Law 2026 provided for a silence-consent mechanism for newly hired employees as of 1 July for the contribution of severance pay to pension funds on the 60th day after hiring, with an increase in the maximum annual limit of the tax deductibility of contributions paid to EUR 5,300, as well as the introduction of greater flexibility in the capital liquidation of the sums paid.
The four thematic areas of the portal
The complementary social security portal is available on the ministry website. It is structured in four thematic areas with content designed to simplify the acquisition of knowledge: "What is social security" (with information on how complementary social security works, the different pension funds, the severance pay fund, false myths to dispel, and a guide to the possibilities of joining according to the type of work performed). The second thematic area 'To whom it is addressed' (brings together services and tools for citizenship, rights and guarantees provided, with an interactive guide to simulate the opportunities of choice), the third is 'Reference regulations' (Italian and European regulations and updated forms). The fourth area is 'Communication' (contains updates on the subject and informative materials, including a glossary to find your way around the sector terms and answers to frequently asked questions).
Calderone: Pension is an investment in your future
" Pension is an investment in one's future," explains Labour Minister Marina Calderone. This is why it is essential for every citizen to have clear information to build a solid pension perspective. The new portal on supplementary pensions accompanies workers along an informed path, helping them to find their way around the rules, tax opportunities and the protection of their savings. At the same time, it works alongside employers, simplifying procedures and offering immediate tools to understand the novelties introduced by the latest budget law and play their valuable informative role in the best possible way".
