Suspected case of dengue fever in the Milan area; pest control operations are underway

Following a report by ATS Milan of a suspected case of dengue fever in Legnano, in the Milan area, ‘from 11.00 pm on 11 June to 2.00 am on 12 June, pest control operations will be carried out on public and private land within the area bounded by Via per Busto Arsizio (from the AMGA entrance to the Toy Center entrance), Via Montelungo, Via Pasubio (from number 5 to number 44 and the footpath), Via Dandolo (from the junction with Via Testori to Via Damiano Chiesa), as well as the access roads to the shopping centre and the car wash/petrol station. From this afternoon, officers from the Legnano Local Police and volunteers from the ‘Alberto da Giussano’ Civil Protection will be on duty to inform local residents and will provide support to the company tomorrow during the treatment operations. This has been announced by Legnano Town Council.

‘In the event of contact with the insecticide: remove clothing and wash the skin under running water. In the event of contact with the eyes: rinse the eyes with the eyelids open using sterile saline solution or running water for 15 minutes. In the event of ingestion, inhalation or in all other cases, contact a doctor, dial 118 or contact the Poison Control Centre at ASST Ospedale Niguarda,” concludes the Administration.
