The Impresa Sostenibile 2025 Award, promoted by Il Sole 24 Ore in collaboration with Piccola Industria di Confindustria and the Pontifical Committee for the World Children's Day, realised in partnership with the Ministry for the Environment and Energy Security and Unioncamere and financed by the Pnrr, is now in its fourth edition with the aim of recognising and enhancing Italian small and medium-sized enterprises that integrate sustainability - environmental, social and economic - into their growth strategy.

In a context marked by energy transition, supply chain evolution and process digitisation, with increasing global geopolitical complexity, the award aims to highlight companies that have been able to turn change into a lasting competitive advantage.

The Sustainable Enterprise Award aims to highlight SMEs that, through concrete projects, have demonstrated to combine economic development, environmental protection and social responsibility, becoming models of excellence for the entire national ecosystem. Each company can apply in a maximum of two of the three award categories:

Environmental sustainability - Innovations, processes or products that reduce the impact on the environment

Economic sustainability - Strategies that generate employment growth and territorial value by promoting a robust and resilient business model

Social sustainability - Actions that promote inclusion, equal treatment, improved working conditions and support for local communities.

Nominations will remain open until Thursday 18 September 2025. The nominations will be assessed by a highly qualified Jury chaired by Fabio Tamburini, editor-in-chief of Il Sole 24 Ore, Radio 24 and the Radiocor news agency. It will include leading figures from the academic, institutional and business worlds. They include Marina Brogi, professor at La Sapienza University in Rome, Teresa Caradonna, vice-president of Esg and Valore Sostenibile of Piccola Industria Confindustria, Maria Carmela Colaiacovo, president of the 24 ORE Group, Roberta Toffanin, expert to the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Father Enzo Fortunato, president of the Pontifical Committee for the World Children's Day, and Edoardo Garrone, president of Erg.

The Jury will assess applications on the basis of innovation, originality, impact on stakeholders, quality of presentation and effectiveness of results. All small and medium-sized enterprises with registered office in Italy that fall within the definition of the European Commission are eligible to participate.
