Suzuki with the Vision e-Sky, winks at electrics for all
One of the stars of the Tokyo show is the Japanese manufacturer's electric K-Car, which could also land in Europe where small, economical electric cars are back in vogue.
The Suzuki Vision e-Sky is a concept for now, but production has been confirmed for 2026. Interest in small electric vehicles continues to grow, and this year's Japan Mobility Show looks set to highlight their priorities, which are a minimalist design, but an extremely compact interior, plus efficiency guaranteed by the electric motor, with both going hand in hand. At a time when even in Europe microcars are making a comeback for their accessibility and ease of use in cities.
Modern style and futuristic body solutions
The Vision e-Sky adopts a hatchback silhouette with a short bonnet, minimal overhangs, a suspended roof and clean surfaces. The C-shaped LED headlights are combined with an illuminated grille and matching tail lights. It also features futuristic aerodynamic-style wheel covers and flush door handles, although these may be modified in the final production phase.
The Vision e-Syy synthesises the evolution of a concept from 70 years ago with the Suzulight by transporting it into a fully electric dimension with ample space on a small format base.
Autonomy level estimated at over 270 kilometres
Perfectly in line with K-Car packaging regulations, the Vision e-Sky measures 3,395 mm in length, 1,475 mm in width and 1,625 mm in height. Suzuki has not yet revealed the specifications of the electric motor or the battery pack, but has anticipated that the production car will certainly be credited with a range of more than 270 km between recharges. Much more than the average of the competition currently on the Japanese market. A figure that can make a difference in the choice of cars that are also destined for almost urban use.
Spacious cockpit and a fully digital cockpit
The interior, like the Vision e-Sky's bodywork, seems very close to production status. It should be noted that the cockpit features a digital cockpit with a floating central tunnel, but also ambient lighting as well as a dashboard that can also be used as a tray to hold small items of readily available items. Also noticeable are the touch controls for both the climate control and the steering wheel in a truly futuristic style and with the particularity that is summed up in buttons that have been integrated into the handling. Also new are the seats with headrests.
