Swg, European elections: Meloni on the rise, Lega, Fi and Pd fall

Fratelli d'Italia, party of premier Giorgia Meloni, grows in the voting intentions for the upcoming European elections on 8-9 June, conducted by Swg for La7. Less than a month before the elections in the leading trio, the Pd drops by 0.1%, while the M5S rises slightly (+0.1%). Here are the results of the survey conducted by Swg for La7 on a sample of 1,200 adults resident in Italy between 8 and 13 May 2024 (Cati-Cami-Cawi method). The list that gains the most compared to the previous survey is Michele Santoro's Pace terra dignità.
Fdi at 26.8% firmly in the lead
Fratelli d'Italia is firmly in the lead with 26.8 per cent. Giorgia Meloni's party in the survey published on 13 May grew by 0.2% compared to the survey of 6 May. At 6.3 points behind is the Pd of Elly Schlein who stands at 20.1 per cent, slightly down - 0.1 per cent - from last week. Giuseppe Conte's M5s gained 0.1% to 16.2%. Down 0.2 per cent were the League and Forza Italia, at 8.6 per cent and 8.3 per cent respectively.
Lists above 4%
.Among the lists that were above the 4 per cent threshold in the European elections, the United States of Europe list of Matteo Renzi and Emma Bonino dropped by 0.3 per cent and the Greens and Left dropped by 0.1 per cent to 4.4 per cent. Carlo Calenda's Action lost 0.1 per cent to 4.4 per cent.
Lists under 4%
.Among the lists recorded below 4% is Cateno De Luca's Libertà at 2.4% (up 0.1%) and Michele Santoro's Pace terra dignità at 2.2%, up 0.4%. The other lists at 1.6% gained 0.3% compared to the previous week. Thirty-eight per cent do not vote, compared to 37% in the previous survey.
