Tactical Breach Wizards: it's the turn of military wizards who shoot and cast spells

We are in the middle of 2024 and the prediction of a video game's success is increasingly imponderable. After the flare-up of PalmWorld and the viral cases of Banana, it is good to point out Tactical Breach Wizards for PC on the Steam platform. The name is bizarre but suggests well what we are talking about. A turn-based strategy game with military wizards. Basically, we are in command of a squad of heavily armed Marines casting spells. Like putting together Call of Duty atmospheres and characters from the TV series 'The Magicians', pointy hats and machine guns. The developer is small, they are Suspicious Developments (Gunpoint and Heat Signature) and they have been working on this title for quite some time - six years. We mention it because the game, due out on 22 August, ranks high on Steam's 'wish list' and the demo has received a positive response from gamers. Technically we're in the XCom2 area, so we're talking about a niche genre.

As can be seen in the video, the characters are not really military men, more a wacky Dungeons&Dragons-style company of rebels and outcasts fighting against teams of trained Marines. The game promises not to be punitive but to leave the player with the possibility of experimenting with many tactical solutions. It remains to be seen how much enthusiasm there is for a title that, all things considered, is not a very popular genre. Tactical Breach Wizards promises spells and bullets, and perhaps it is this combination that has made its mark on this unexciting summer (at least from a gaming perspective).
