Duties, Tajani: Businesses don't run away, only the EU negotiates with the US

Does the League continue to push for bilateral negotiations between Italy and the US on tariffs? "I don't make polemics, I just say that dealing with the US on trade matters is the exclusive competence of the European Commission. It is not up to us to negotiate. The treaty on the export plan is one thing, but the one on duties is only done by the EU commission. These are the rules and treaties, when one speaks one should know the rules and the law'. So said vice-premier Antonio Tajani (FI) asked on the sidelines of the national council.
"I would never be part of the anti-EU executive"
.'Let it be clear that we defend Europe, we will continue to defend it, Europe is our home, I would never be part of an anti-European government so this must be clear, fortunately it seems to me that Prime Minister Meloni has always made choices in defence of the European Union'. Thus again Tajani.
Spain plan? "It's not a question of state aid, we need more"
."It's not a question of state aid, something else is needed," the deputy prime minister pointed out in response to the question of whether Italy has funds available to launch a business support plan like the one Spain has set up to deal with US duties.
"Now entrepreneurs don't run away from Italy"
.'I am very much against it, I am for internationalisation. Running away from Italy would be an act inconsistent with what an Italian entrepreneur should do'. This was said by FI deputy prime minister Antonio Tajani on the sidelines of the party's national council when asked about the many companies that are starting to talk about delocalisation as an answer to duties.
He who pushes for healthcare costs was against Mes
."All those who were against the health mes are now saying that you have to do the debt to do the health mes. But why were they not in favour then as we were in favour of the health mes? Now some say they want to make debt for health spending but they were against the MES. We used to say that we should take the MH when we needed it, because it could be useful. We are not sfascists: Europe is the one that allowed us to have the Recovery Plan. We must be consistent: it is not that when you are in opposition you say one thing and when you are in government you say the opposite'. Thus FI leader Antonio Tajani.
