Tari, scam messages about debts and irregularities arrive: how to defend yourself

False warnings about paying Tari via text message: several municipalities in Italia have warned citizens about a phishing campaign reported in recent hours.

In fact, several users have received messages simulating official communications from the Revenue Office: text messages in which citizens are urged to urgently contact a telephone number to remedy alleged irregularities in payments and avoid penalties. The authorities make it clear, however, that these are attempts at fraud and urge people to pay the utmost attention.

Thus, from the municipalities come advice on how to defend oneself. And, more to the point, understand when the messages are real. The channels that are used, we read, are 'Simple/recommended mail' and 'App IO and SEND'. And then, two options on 'what to do: ignore the message, do not reply and do not click on any links; delete the SMS, block the contact, remove the communication to avoid accidental openings'.
