Autumn in Trentino amid nature, flavours and cultural events
Tasteful breaks
DiVin Ottobre blows out twenty candles and returns with initiatives organised over the five weekends in October by members of the Trentino Wine and Food Trail to celebrate autumn in its most authentic form and to tell the story of the territory through sensory and emotional experiences, including vineyard walks, guided tours and tastings. They range from La Vigna Eccellente in Isera in Vallagarina; aReboro Territory&Passion in Valle dei Laghi; from Rotalian Meetings in Piana Rotaliana, at Autumnus in Trento where, among many other initiatives, the Aperitivi Narrati are also scheduled.Alongside these are events linked to typical products, such as the Freshwater Fish Festival and Open Farmhouses in Alto Garda, the Pumpkin Festival and the Chestnut Festival in Valsugana; and the Festival of the Ciuìga, a typical product of the Banale gastronomic tradition and Slow Food Presidium, in the enchanting village of San Lorenzo Dorsino. Masterclasses, gourmet trekking, aperitifs with a view of the Dolomites, conferences, themed shows and a folkloristic travelling dinner among the 'caneve' between Val di Cembra and Val di Fiemme are the heart of Dolo-Vini-Miti. The festival of vertical wines, from 9 to 12 October in Cembra and Lisignago The beauty of the Fiemme Valley Dolomites and the vineyard terraces of the Cembra Valley, with its 700 kilometres of dry stone walls, are the exceptional backdrop for the event. Among the most eagerly awaited events is the 25th edition of 'Top Wine' at Sass Pordoi, the highest wine tasting in the world, at an altitude of 2,950 metres, scheduled for Saturday 18 October. A symposium to discover the great wines of Trentino Alto Adige, which this year also hosts productions from Irpinia, Sicily and France, for an exciting oenological journey while admiring the most beautiful peaks enveloped in the warm and magical autumn light.
