Tax authorities: the new recruitment process for tax judges gets underway – the selection panel is ready
The CPGT has unanimously selected the 29 members of the selection board for the second recruitment competition for professional tax judges, for 180 posts. The chair is Roberto Proietti. All eyes are now on the announcement of the examination dates.
Key points
The second recruitment exercise for professional tax judges, with 180 posts available, is taking shape. The Presiding Council of the Tax Courts (CPGT) has unanimously appointed the Examination Board that will oversee the new recruitment process. However, the date of the exams has yet to be set.
The composition
The Commission will be chaired by Roberto Proietti, President of the Lazio Regional Tax Court of Appeal. There are 29 full members in total: in addition to the president, the Commission comprises 20 magistrates or tax judges with at least 15 years’ seniority, four university professors, two solicitors and two chartered accountants.
The academic component
Nicola Fortunato and Alessandro Giovannini have been appointed to the academic panel, both specialising in tax law, alongside Domenico Apicella and Raffaele Picaro for the other subjects covered by the competition. The permanent chartered accountants are Rosa D’Angiolella and Vincenzo Laudiero, whilst Enrico Caratozzolo and Salvatore Palillo have been selected as the permanent solicitors. In addition to these, there are twenty permanent magistrates and the alternate members identified by the Council.
Lussana: delight at the appointment
“I can only express my great satisfaction at the unanimous appointment of the Examination Board for the second competitive examination for tax magistrates,” said CPGT President Carolina Lussana. The Chair thanked the councillors for their work and wished the members of the Committee and its Chair, Mr Proietti – whom she described as “a highly experienced tax magistrate of undisputed professionalism” – every success in their work.
The wait for the fixture list
The appointment of the Commission is one of the necessary steps towards launching the new recruitment process aimed at strengthening the professional tax judiciary. To finalise the operational framework, we must now await the setting of the timetable and the date of the examinations.
