Teacher's card active from today: what can and cannot be purchased
In addition to the purchase of books, magazines, museums, exhibitions, theatres, and the purchase of hardware and software, provision was also made for the transport of people and the purchase of musical instruments
Activated on 9 March - with some delay at the start - the teacher's charter for the 2025/2026 school year, extended to essentially all precarious teachers. A total number of beneficiaries of over 1 million teachers: over 200,000 more than last year when there had already been an increase, for a total of 253,000 more teachers than originally envisaged by the Charter.
Importo
The Card has a new amount of EUR 383 (originally EUR 500). On the plate are approximately 400 million euro. Resources that Minister Giuseppe Valditara will supplement with a further 281 million European funds that will be allocated directly to the schools.
Eligible expenditure
Eligible expenditure categories were expanded in order to strengthen the opportunities for teachers. In addition to the purchase of books, magazines, training and refresher courses, museums, exhibitions, theatres, and the purchase of hardware and software, provision has also been made, for the first time, for passenger transport services and the purchase of musical instruments.
Additional funds for schools
As for the additional EUR 281 million, 11 million more than the 270 million already announced, it will also be used for training and refresher courses for teachers and for the purchase by educational institutions of tablets, personal computers, digital devices, books and teaching aids to be loaned to teachers.
