Teachers' card to all precarious workers but bonus loses 100 euro
Ministry of Education and Merit decree on incentives for teachers coming soon More funds for PCs and tablets on loan from schools
The scope of the training bonus for teachers is widening, since all precarious workers will be included (253,000 more according to Minister Giuseppe Valditara's estimates), but the amount is shrinking. From the €500 envisaged so far, it should go down to under €400, probably to €380-390. The latest calculations are being made at the Ministry of Education and Merit in view of the (now imminent) issuing of the ministerial decree implementing the changes contained in the Maturity Decree (Decree Law 127/2027). Including an increase in funds for PCs and tablets that schools will give on loan for use to their teachers.
Wider floor
The teacher's card will also be extended to temporary teachers until the end of their lessons or to educational staff. After the annual ones that had already been added. The novelty, envisaged by the Maturity Decree, takes into account the numerous jurisprudential pronouncements that have arrived in recent years, including by the Court of Cassation and the Constitutional Court. All of the 800,000 or more professors in service in Italian schools will get the bonus to buy books, transport services, courses and other educational activities, and so on.
The confirmation came from the MIM holder's own voice: 'We have added,' Valditara confirmed by video, '253,868 users, namely precarious workers until 30 June and educational staff.
Computer equipment
With the adjustment of the range and amounts, the basket of goods and services that can be purchased also changes. With a squeeze on PCs and tablets, which have always represented the items most purchased with the bonus. As a result of Decree Law 127, in fact, the purchase of hardware and software will only be allowed on the occasion of the first disbursement and every four years thereafter. Those who have already received the arta before 2025/2026 will be able to use the bonus to purchase hardware and software in the 2025/2026 school year and then every four years.
The minister also provided clarification on this point: 'In these four years,' Valditara explained, '1 billion 323 million euro have been spent. 60.5% of the resources have been used to purchase hardware and software, tablets, computers. 28% for the purchase of books. 6% for training expenses'. Looking ahead, the Lega Nord exponent added: "Not only will teachers be able to continue to use the teacher's card for training, for refresher courses, then for the language course and so on, rather than for the purchase of tablets and computers, they will be able to spend it at their school.
