Techbau posts a profit of 92.6 million (+22.8 per cent), with the industrial sector also contributing to this growth
The Milan-based general contractor is focusing on property development, data centres and industry: from the De Nora GigaFactory in Cernusco to the Loro Piana knitwear complex in Ghemme
Key points
A net profit of 92.6 million euros, up 22.8 per cent on the previous year. Techbau closes the 2025/2026 financial year with the best result in its recent history and with turnover rising to 862.5 million (+20.6 per cent). The key driver has been the development sector, which has almost doubled its revenue in a single year, whilst industrial construction projects, ranging from data centres to hydrogen gigafactories, are becoming the foundation on which the company is building its growth, now alongside the residential sector as well.
Growth is being driven primarily by the development segment, which generated revenue of 316 million, 77 per cent more than in the previous financial year. The general contracting business, however, remained stable and continues to be the largest source of revenue at 532 million (+1.2 per cent). Facility management, whilst still marginal in terms of volume, is the most dynamic segment in percentage terms: 14.6 million in revenue, up 65 per cent.
Industrial construction sites
On the industrial front, the most significant project is in Cernusco sul Naviglio, on the outskirts of Milan, where Techbau is building a GigaFactory for De Nora dedicated to electrolysis systems and fuel cells, with a production capacity of up to 2 GW. In Maranello, a building for car painting is currently under construction for a major international operator.
Among the projects completed is also the new centre of excellence for knitwear by Loro Piana in Ghemme, in the Novara area, covering over 8,000 square metres and bringing together the entire supply chain, from research and development to the finished product, and a new factory of approximately 17,000 square metres in Vercelli for a multinational company in the sector, which integrates production, offices and logistics.
Data centres: 184.6 MW across nine projects
In data centres, the company is the general contractor for nine projects with a total capacity of 184.6 megawatts IT. Seven are currently under construction and six are being built on brownfield sites. Among these, the Cavour Hyperscale Campus project in Trino, in the Vercelli area, is the first under development that will convert the site of the former Galileo Ferraris power station into a hub for computing and artificial intelligence.
