Terme di Saturnia steps up a gear: 15 million in investment for a new phase of growth
The spa resort closed 2025 with revenue of 28.2 million and aims to exceed 35 million by 2027 through a development plan focusing on refurbishment, longevity and new services
Key points
Terme di Saturnia Natural Destination is embarking on a new phase of development, starting with a €15 million investment plan for the two-year period 2026–2027. The strategy aims to strengthen the destination’s positioning as an international benchmark in the wellness hospitality sector, through the expansion of its offering, innovation in services and an increasingly integrated model combining wellbeing, health and the local area. The figures point to structural growth. In the 2025 financial year, Terme di Saturnia recorded a total turnover of 28.2 million, up by around 10 per cent on the previous year, representing an increase of over 2.7 million. Since 2019, overall growth has reached 64 per cent, rising from 16.5 million to current levels, with an average annual growth rate of 8.6 per cent.
This financial performance has been accompanied by an improvement in the key operating indicators: during 2025, over 60,000 guests stayed at the resort, with 31,600 rooms sold, more than 110,000 meals served in the restaurants and over 105,000 visits recorded at the Thermal Park and Club. Growth is also reflected in the local employment situation: the resort now employs around 250 staff directly, consolidating its economic and social impact in the Maremma area. The positive trend continues into 2026: the first five months of the year show a 10 per cent increase compared with the same period in 2025, confirming the soundness of the path taken.
A 15 million business plan to enhance the experience
Building on the results achieved, Terme di Saturnia has drawn up a €15 million investment plan aimed at further improving its infrastructure, services and range of experiences. The aim is to respond to evolving demand, characterised by a growing focus on prevention, personalisation and quality of life. Key initiatives include new premium accommodation options and the refurbishment of the wellness facilities.
Another pillar of the development strategy will be the strengthening of the Medical Spa offering with the launch, scheduled for September 2026, of Saturnia Natural Longevity, an evolution of the Terme di Saturnia Method. The new model integrates preventive medicine, nutrition, exercise, thermal therapy and scientific research with an approach dedicated to healthy ageing. A key feature will be a multidimensional assessment system based on advanced diagnostics, clinical examinations and personalised analyses, all of which will feed into the Longevity Score – a tool designed to define individual programmes and monitor results over time. The aim is to transform the spa stay into an ongoing programme of prevention and health, supported by a Care Manager, who will look after the guest before, during and after their stay.
The staff accommodation and the refurbishment of the spa grounds
The development plan also includes initiatives focused on internal resources. By the end of 2026, the refurbishment of a complex situated near the destination will be completed; it is set to become a modern staff residence for the resort’s employees, featuring private spaces, communal areas and facilities dedicated to socialising and wellbeing. In 2027, the programme will enter a new phase with the complete refurbishment of the spa complex, one of the destination’s most iconic assets and among the largest in Europe. The growth trajectory is clear: to reach and exceed 35 million in turnover by 2027, consolidating a hospitality model capable of combining natural heritage, innovation and quality of service.
