The artistic perfumery that turns each fragrance into a gesture, a ritual, an identity
"Wearing a RITO perfume means consecrating oneself to one's own feeling. It is an action that connects past, present and vision of oneself. A silent declaration," is how Davide Martini and Stefano Torreggiani, founders of the Italian maison RITO, explain their idea of perfume. The brand RITO, Italian artistic perfumes, was born from the meeting of two worlds that are only apparently distant: nightlife and art on the one hand, and high-precision design and entrepreneurship on the other. A union that has given rise to a project that interprets perfume as an aesthetic act, a symbolic gesture and an intimate form of identity. "My path in the arts and nightlife has been a continuous training in emotion," says Davide. "There I learnt to capture gestures, lights, silences. It was in that ephemeral but very powerful world that I intuited how a perfume could become an invisible costume'. Stefano comes from a different but complementary path: "In the world of supercars I learnt the value of detail, extreme precision and emotional impact," he explains. "Dance, on the other hand, taught me rhythm and harmony. With Davide we realised that perfume could be the meeting point: a collector's item, a sensory experience, a living work".
Perfume as a daily ritual
At the heart of the RITO philosophy is a clear idea: wearing a perfume is a conscious, almost sacred gesture. Everything stems from a ritual thought that structures every step of the creative process, from the choice of raw materials to the design of the iconic sculptural cap. "In every RITO fragrance there is a time and a gesture," say the founders. "The cap is conceived as a totemic object that has a symbolic and physical weight: it requires a choice, a presence. The name, the olfactory accord, the design of the bottle, everything contributes to creating a sacred and personal moment. Wearing a RITO perfume means consecrating oneself to one's own feeling". The perfume stopper is a three-dimensional prismatic sculpture, registered as an original design that becomes the brand's identity symbol. "We were inspired by the architecture of large modern metropolises, in particular New York. Geometry for us is a vision of the future. That contemporary monolith contains multiple facets but only one heart. It is the key that opens the ritual of perfume'. Precisely for this reason, a technical travel cap is also included inside each package: lightness and functionality in dialogue with the artistic component.
Materials, empathy and responsibility
In selecting ingredients, Davide and Stefano follow a precise philosophy, based on dialogue with perfumer noses. "Everything starts with empathy," they state. "We collaborate with the creative teams to choose the best raw materials available, with the aim of formulating fragrances that are identifiable and original." Sustainability is not an add-on, but part of the process. Research is the balance between excellence and responsibility, without sacrificing a distinctive olfactory impact. Their fragrances are created to stand out, not to look like. "Being an artistic perfumery brand made in Italy represents an authentic commitment: an act of responsibility and pride. It means bringing the cult of beauty, Italian craftsmanship and cultural audacity to the world." They are not simply Italian: they are Italian visionaries.
