CCCP's comeback in a big way

The faithful Cccp are back. And in great style. And the 'last call' at Rome's (packed) Parco della Musica Auditorium, despite the sign reading '-6', certainly doesn't taste like a farewell. On stage is the pro-Soviet punk of the faithful to the line because 'in faith the line is there'. And Giovanni Lindo Ferretti, without saying a word between songs, thrills the audience with the repertoire that has characterised the Reggio Emilia band's season.

Band capable of bringing together music and 'avant-garde theatre', punk and mysticism. And thus 'you lie' and 'mother'. States of unrest and 'Libera me domine'. On stage, Massimo Zamboni on guitar, the performance of Danilo Fatur, the artist of the people who uses bicycle rims or other tools to perform his choreography.

The honours go to Annarella Giudici, the well-deserving soubrette who presents, enchants and then dances between changes of dress, giving a 'costume' for each song. Those who were expecting a reunion under the banner of nostalgia soon change their minds. On stage, as well as in the audience, there is energy. And the theatre that the Emilian band gives.

The songs are the historical ones, in some cases revisited. From War and Peace, always topical, to States of Agitation, via Noia and Mi ami, Per me lo so. There is no lack of Manifesto and even Radio Kabul revisited and updated with references to the international conflict with 'a Russian in the Donbass'. Some stanzas of the Italian version of Bang bang serve to anticipate the more animated Spara Yuri and, under a cloak of red fumes, Emilia Paranoica.

And then the poignant Annarella, which Ferretti sings accompanied by Zamboni's guitar with Danilo Fatur and Annarella next to him. A song that is not a farewell because 'it's not over'. Then applause, the encore with "tu menti" and the farewell with Amandoti sung by Ferretti accompanied by the sound of the violin, and surrounded by his "travelling companions". And Annarella with the sign reading -6. Many, however, are convinced, or hope, that 'it is not over'. On 3 July it will be repeated in Legnano, then stops in Naples, Bari, Piazzolla sul Brenta, Rimini and Taormina.
