Como’s textile industry is joining forces to purchase renewable energy at reduced costs
The group purchase will enable us to secure better prices from 2027 onwards
Over 100 companies from Confindustria Como’s Textile Sector Group are joining forces to make a collective purchase of renewable energy.
Energy accounts for around 40 per cent of the operating costs of businesses in the district, and over the last three years energy costs have risen by 35 per cent. In 2024, Italian businesses paid an average of €109/MWh for electricity, compared with €63/MWh in Spain and €58/MWh in France – a difference of almost 47% compared with Paris. The district’s response is to adopt shared standards and act collectively where individual SMEs cannot achieve this on their own.
