Gruppo Dac, which specialises in the distribution and sale of food products in the Ho.Re.Ca. sector, has acquired Erredi, a small company based in Monopoli, in the province of Bari, which operates in the food service sector. The value of the transaction has not been disclosed and the supplier partners in Erredi will continue to operate: Umberto De Marinis, Angelo Raimondi, Marino Raimondi, Graziano Raimondi and Daniele Raimondi. The deal aims to consolidate the Dac Group's position in Southern Italy because the SME has its own distribution platform in Apulia. Last year Erredi's turnover was over 22 million and the company is a leader in distribution to catering companies with a focus on frozen food and fresh fish. "Our vision has always been to have ambitious growth targets," explains Daniele Scuola, president and CEO of the Dac Group. "The operation with Erredi is a further step to increase the group's presence on a national level with a view to territorial proximity to our customers. Erredi's skills and professionalism will help to further strengthen our group's presence in Puglia'.
As for the Dac Group's fiscal year 2024-2025, it will close at the end of June with a turnover of more than one billion against 900 million last year. "This is a double-digit increase," the CEO continues, "confirming a market that is growing even though it is plagued by price fluctuations on some product categories and raw materials.
The group's strategy continues along the road of serving the catering industry, to which Dac also sells its own brand products (Mdd), with a more capillary presence in the territory. There are more than 700 sales agents and a sales team is dedicated to foreign countries. There are more than 25 thousand active customers and more than 30 thousand references between dry, fresh, frozen, wine, beverage and non-food.
"We will remain focused on increasing the capillarity of our offer on the national territory, both through organic growth and by external lines," Scuola anticipates. "If for the former, our fundamental objective is the continuous strengthening of the sales force and further product specialisation with greater focus on high value-added market niches, on the external front we will continue to evaluate development opportunities through realities that have a deep-rooted regional or macro-regional consolidation.
As far as sentiment towards the summer period is concerned, Scuola is optimistic: 'The summer seems to be promising, with goods bookings up by 10-15%,' says the CEO. 'The weather conditions will be decisive, especially for the hit-and-run tourism segment, which has been growing in recent years. On the other hand, geopolitical and monetary developments will influence foreign tourism, which is more linked to medium-long stays'. The Dac Group was assisted in the transaction for the legal aspects by Studio LogotetaRossetto and for the tax aspects by Studio Sacco & Partners. Erredi was assisted in the transaction for the legal aspects by Studio Nencha Mario and for the tax aspects by Studio Palazzese Francesco.
