EU grants Italy EUR 12.8 billion for the NRP, the ninth tranche
Italy's overall Recovery and Resilience Plan is financed with EUR 194.4 billion (EUR 71.8 billion in grants and EUR 122.6 billion in loans)
The European Commission disbursed EUR 12.8 billion to Italia, marking the ninth payment under the Mechanism for Recovery and Resilience (RRM). The disbursement follows the ninth payment request submitted by Italia on 30 December 2025 and approved by the Commission on 29 April 2026. Following the council's approval to proceed with this disbursement, the commission adopted a payment decision and released the funds.
Italy's overall Recovery and Resilience Plan is financed with EUR 194.4 billion (EUR 71.8 billion in grants and EUR 122.6 billion in loans). As for all Member States, payments to Italia under the NRP are performance-based and conditional on the successful implementation of its recovery and resilience plan. With this ninth payment, Italia reaches 85% of the funds allocated to its recovery and resilience plan.
