D.OR., the Goldsmiths' District of Campania, is participating for the first time in JCK Las Vegas 2025, an international jewellery fair that will be held until 9 June at The Venetian Expo in Las Vegas. It is a major event for the industry, attracting over 30,000 participants from all over the world.
The US market is the leading export market for Italian jewellery, with €1,399 million. But it is a difficult market, due to strong regulatory restrictions especially for coral. A situation that risks worsening due to the US administration's threats of tariffs. Having received the invitation from Ice, a delegation of the D.OR. has left, which will spend the next few days studying the market, the climate and contacting local buyers.
"I gladly accepted ICE's invitation to participate for the first time as the Goldsmiths' District of Campania at this important event, which is the gateway to the US market," says D.Or. and Centro Orafo il Tarì President Vincenzo Giannotti. "This first experience will allow D.OR. to carry out a real exploratory mission on this particularly complex market, especially in the current historical moment.
The American mission is part of an internationalisation programme that the district, a year after its establishment, has adopted thanks also to the economic support of the Campania Region. Starting from Vicenza, a very international Italian trade fair (January 2025) with 40 companies on the move; moving on to Munich in February, where some 13 companies have moved. Finally, on 2 June, Tarì (Cittadella del gioiello di Marcianise in the province of Caserta) and D.Or. Campania celebrated Republic Day as guests of the Italian ambassador in The Hague, Augusto Massari. The meeting was attended by several companies from the District: Gioielli Rovian, Luise Gioielli, Tessitore, Coscia, Idea Coral, I Gioielli del Sole, Aucella, Buonocore Gioielli and Spadafora Gioielli, the only Italian jeweller already present in the Netherlands. The event was also made possible thanks to Tarì's collaboration with the Fashion Design Department of the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, and with atelier Apnoea and Sartoria Trama, which made the dresses.
In September, it is back to Vicenza. and finally at the Tarì headquarters in October, a centian of foreign buyers from various countries will meet about 60 companies from Campania.
