The Italian Managers’ National Team is taking to the pitch for a charity three-way football tournament in aid of AIL, the Italian Leukaemia Association, fielding some of the country’s leading business figures. On Sunday 14 June in Desenzano del Garda, the football team will take on the Singers’ National Team and the Boom Friends in the “Desenzano World Three-Way Tournament”. Taking to the pitch as players will be some of the country’s leading business figures: Gianpiero Strisciuglio, CEO of Trenitalia; Andrea Laudadio of TIM; Stefano Besseghini (former President of ARERA); Andrea Bricchi, CEO of Brian and Partners; Andrea Bombardi, Vice-President of RINA; Marco Donadoni, President of H Servizi; Luca Mastrantonio, CEO of NucleItalia; Gian Luca Erbacci (former President of Alstom); as well as numerous other managers and entrepreneurs from some of Italy’s leading industrial and service groups. Tickets will be available for purchase right up until the day of the event, whilst the live TV broadcast will be shown on Sportitalia. The initiative aims to raise funds for the ‘Transfusion care for frail oncohaematological patients’ project. “Through football, we want to help support initiatives that have a real impact on people and local communities,” says Andrea Bricchi, the team’s captain. In recent months, a delegation of managers was received by the Holy Father, Leo XIV, to whom the number 14 shirt was presented, symbolising the values of friendship, solidarity and social commitment that inspire the group.
