Experience four seasons in just 24 hours. A popular saying born with Iceland in mind, where in a single day you can go from heavy snowfalls, to sudden downpours, to strong gusts of wind to skin-warming sunshine. It is also a perfect comparison with the Ferrari 12Cilindri spider, capable of radically changing character in no time at all, just as happens meteorologically speaking on the island in the North Sea.
Emotions and sensations are guaranteed by the Emilian two-seater, capable of being a comfortable granturismo perfect for a tour in the hills, with seats that are nap-proof for the passenger, and at the same time a super sports car that makes you fall in love with the sensations transmitted when the V12 engine reaches 9,500 rpm.
After testing it on the track in the coupé version, we drove almost a thousand kilometres behind the wheel of the spider, using it on a daily basis as befits a GT produced in Maranello.
Before reliving the emotions felt, inside and outside the cockpit, a brief summary of the car: the first model to inaugurate a new stylistic course, with strong references to the past starting with the front end that pays tribute to the Daytona, the heir to the 812 Superfast is powered by an evolution of the classic V12 without hybridisation with a displacement of 6,496 cc, 830 hp at 9,250 rpm with a maximum torque of 678 Nm at 7,250 rpm and a specific power of 128 hp/litre.
With a power-to-weight ratio of 1.88 kg/hp, it sprints from 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, reaches 200 km/h in 7.9 seconds and surpasses a top speed of 340 km/h. This is all combined with a completely redesigned chassis featuring increased rigidity and a 20 mm shorter wheelbase, active aerodynamics starting with the two movable wings at the rear that only rise when needed, and a hardtop roof that opens in just 14 seconds to a speed of 45 km/h.
