From Monday 9 to Sunday 15 June, la Milanesiana, a festival directed by Elisabetta Sgarbi, returns to the theme of law with three appointments in Milan at the Orangerie of the Poldi Pezzoli Museum.
It will start at 12 noon on Monday 9 June with a meeting entitled The Reasons for Creon and Antigone where philosopher Massimo Cacciari and Luigi Garofalo, full professor of Roman law and the foundations of European law at the University of Padua, member of various cultural institutions and author of numerous publications on ancient and current law, ranging in art and philosophy, will speak.
Inspired by the tragic figure of Antigone and the political-moral dilemma embodied by Creon, the two speakers will address one of the deepest knots of modernity: the conflict between state law and the law of conscience, between order and justice, between individual responsibility and collective authority.
On 10 June, again from 12 noon, it will be the turn of Il lavoro, a dialogue, coordinated by Pierluigi Marchetti, between former Minister of Labour Elsa Fornero, lawyer Pietro Ichino, lawyer specialising in Economic Criminal Law Umberto Ambrosoli and lawyer and author of numerous articles and publications in the area of labour law Franco Toffoletto. The dialogue will address crucial issues in a historical moment in which work is at the centre of profound economic and cultural transformations, an opportunity for open discussion between authoritative voices from law, economics and institutions, to rethink its meaning today.
On 15 June, at 12 noon, the meeting The Individual and his Rights with constitutionalist expert on the relationship between law and new technologies and data protection Oreste Pollicino, jurist and former Minister of Justice Marta Cartabia and lecturer in Philosophy and Politics of Law and Theories and Practice of Human Rights at the University of Milan Alessandra Facchi. An appointment inviting to question the concept of individual right, between ethics and philosophy, in a rapidly changing world. For all dates of the event curated by Piergaetano Marchetti, free admission subject to availability with compulsory booking.
