This year's winner of the podium of the 50 most beautiful beaches in the world, according to the ranking compiled by the website World's 50 Beaches, is Entalula Beach in the Philippines. In the 2025 edition, it was Italy's Cala Goloritzé on the Baunei Coast in Sardinia that took the podium, awarded for its pure and spectacular beauty both by sea and land.
Remote and unique in Palawan
Entalula Beach is located in El Nido, in the far north of the island of Palawan, Philippines. The area is an archipelago of islets, limestone cliffs and lagoons that has come firmly on the radar of curious travellers in recent years, described as 'one of those places you have to see to believe', praising its limestone cliffs, white sand and remote location, which means fewer visitors. Accessible only by boat, Entalula is considered far off the beaten track and is in an impeccable state. To visit it, it is best to avoid the period from June to October when typhoons are frequent, while it is advisable to go between December and April. The selection is based on the feedback from over a thousand travellers and the countless days spent by judges, Beach Ambassadors and the World's 50 Beaches team exploring beaches around the world. The final list is based on specific criteria, including wildlife, crowd size, how unique the scenery is, how calm and easily accessible the water is and above all the likelihood of having a 'perfect day at the beach'.
From 2nd to 10th place
In second place is Fteri Beach in Kefalonia, Greece, known for its white cliffs and secluded bay. Third position for Wharton Beach in Australia while Nosy Iranja in Madagascar takes fourth place and East Beach on Vomo Island in Fiji, in fifth. Also in the top ten are Shoal Bay East, Anguilla, Dhigurah in the Maldives, Playa Balandra in Mexico, Koh Rong in Cambodia and Donald Duck Bay, Thailanda named after a rock resembling the Disney character.
In 18th position Cala dei Gabbiani
To find an Italian beach, one has to go as far as 18th position with Cala Dei Gabbiani, a natural continuation of the more famous Cala Mariolu, one of the infinite jewels of the Baunei coast and, more generally, of the Gulf of Orosei, on the central-eastern coast of Sardinia. It can be reached by sea, like the other 'pearls' of the Ogliastra coast, by private boats or boats departing from the tourist ports of Cala Gonone, Arbatax and Santa Maria Navarrese; or by an arduous and demanding trekking path (3-4 hours), recommended for the more experienced, accompanied by guides, that starts from the Golgo plateau and crosses the Ispuligidenie forest. In 48th position is another famous beach in Sardinia. This is Pelosa in Stintino, in the north-west of Sardinia, renowned for its fine white sand and turquoise water reminiscent of Caribbean landscapes
