It has just won the Olivier Award in London; we can also see it in Paris, at the famous (and renovated) Lido2: it is the musical 'Titanique', a hilarious parody of the film, with all the hits of Céline Dion. Instead, a classic like 'Jesus Christ Superstar' returns to Rome. The Dimore del Quartetto are always very active and make us discover the Antica Torre Tornabuoni in Florence.
Paris
From 24 April to 22 June at Lido2 the musical 'Titanique', in English with French surtitles. Fresh from the Olivier Prize (the highest award in English theatre), this very funny show lands in the capital, where we discover that Céline Dion was on board the Titanic; that she is still alive, bursting into the Titanic Museum to tell tourists how it really went down between Jack and Rose. A delirious, camp, gayo, over-the-top musical unfolds. A brazen parody of the film, with fireworks of irreverent humour, heavy double entendres, improvisations with the audience, and all of Céline Dion's greatest hits. It opens with I'm Alive and concludes with (what else) My Heart Will Go On - including River Deep, Mountain High, aptly sung by Tina Turner (none other than the notorious Iceberg but in female guise, impersonated en travesti by a sailor we have already met).
