The Podcasting Festival celebrates its tenth edition with a widespread review across Italy

From 20 September to 4 October, numerous events in different cities, culminating in the great final event of the Podcast Summit in Milan

At a time of strong growth for the entire audio ecosystem, the Podcasting Festival confirms itself as a reference point for professionals, creators, brands, institutions and enthusiasts, with a calendar full of presentations, talks, courses, workshops, panels, networking and live performances.

Under the organisation and artistic direction of Ester Memeo, CEO and Founder of Podstar, the 2025 edition will address the most relevant topics of the current digital audio entertainment landscape:

  • Video podcasting: workshops, talks and case histories to learn how to produce video-audio content strategically;
  • Artificial Intelligence applied to podcasting: tools, experiences and reflections on how AI is transforming production and distribution;
  • Podcasts and social communication: the role of podcasts in the dissemination of civic, cultural and topical issues;
  • Crossmediality: how the podcast dialogues with other media and languages, creating complex editorial and narrative ecosystems;

On 20 September local events in Rome will begin with a series of live podcast presentations and the awarding of the a prize dedicated to the best podcasts on innovation, in collaboration with Casa delle Tecnologie Emergenti di Roma Capitale and Rome Future Week. At the Casa del Podcast, in Villa Torlonia, ASSIPOD.org - Italian Podcasting Association, organises free training courses to learn how to make podcasts from scratch and masterclasses on advanced topics such as the market and the production of podcasts and audiobooks.

On 30 September, on the occasion of International Podcast Day, there will be an online day with Italian and international guests, to explore global trends and compare experiences from around the world. The same day will also see the presentation of data on the podcast market in Italy, thanks to the new NielsenIQ research for Audible -Amazon company among the biggest players in the production and distribution of quality audio entertainment (audiobooks, podcasts and audio series)-with an up-to-date overview of the evolution of listening, formats and usage behaviour.

The highlight of the event will be the Podcast Summit in Milan, at Cascina Triulza - MIND Milano Innovation District, with two days:

  • On 3 October, the event will host presentations and live podcasts in collaboration with 24Ore Podcast - which brings together all the podcast productions of the 24 ORE Group - and, subsequently, in collaboration with Acast, the eagerly awaited Emerging Podcasts section, with the presentation of projects published in the last year. On the same occasion, the Revelation of the Year Award, instituted by Media Key and dedicated to the emerging podcast that has distinguished itself. The day will end with the Aperipodcast, the customary networking event that brings together the community and industry professionals.

  • On 4 October, on the final day of the Festival, themed panels, workshops and live performances by creators and podcasters who will bring their shows to the stage in a new guise. On the same day, the Pod24 Prize from 24Ore Podcast will be awarded, to recognise the work of the best independent reportage and investigation podcasts.

Among the first sponsors and partners of the 2025 edition will be Acast, Audible, Yamaha Music Europe GMBH - Branch Italy, ASSIPOD - Associazione Italiana Podcasting, Spotify and Canva, and the participation of YouTube and Emergency. The collaboration with 24Ore Podcast, was confirmed, testifying to the growing attention to the language of podcasts as a cultural and social tool.
