The Pope at the Angelus greeted the Emergency group "committed to remembering Article 11 of the Italian Constitution which says: 'Italy repudiates war'". "Remember this article, forward!" encouraged Francis. "May this principle be implemented throughout the world. Let war be banished and let issues be addressed with law and negotiations. Let arms be silenced, let space be given to dialogue," was the Pope's appeal.
"We pray for the tormented Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, Myanmar, South Sudan," he added, listing the countries that suffer most from war in these times.
