The stage of the Super G Faloria Mountain Club in Cortina looks towards the Olympics
Baccuini: 'The high-altitude hospitality market is growing very strongly and we want to offer fun opportunities for everyone, especially non-skiers'

The Faloria mountain hut in Cortina d'Ampezzo was the base for the athletes and support teams who yesterday competed on the Tondi slope in the Visa Fis Snowboard Alpine World Cup parallel giant slalom stage as well as a qualifying competition for the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic Games. The mountain hut is also the heart and stage of the Super G - Faloria mountain club, which is part of the Super G circuit, a network of mountain huts also present in Courmayeur, Cervinia and Madonna di Campiglio that offer convivial spaces with a mix of cuisine, music, design, conviviality, animation and après ski entertainment even for those who do not ski because "Happiness lives here" says Andrea Baccuini, the entrepreneur who together with Giacomo Sonzini had the idea of bringing this new way of experiencing the mountains to Italy. An après ski that overlooks the Ampezzo basin and offers a breathtaking panorama. This is where the after party of the snowboard world cup competition took place, and from here there is a privileged view of the slopes where the Tofane Olympic races will be held.
"The all-round high-altitude hospitality market is growing strongly compared to traditional catering, and we want to offer entertainment opportunities to everyone, especially non-skiers," Baccuini continues. "We offer a destination with a total view of the Tofane, Ampezzo Dolomites. The Dolomites have been declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco'. The entrepreneur also takes stock of last weekend when the Mountain Club was opened during the Immaculate Conception weekend. "Between the restaurant and après ski, we served over 3,000 guests. Those who lunched or dined at our 'Meraviglioso' restaurant spent an average of 108 euro per person, while with the après ski formula, over 500 bottles of super spirits and champagne were consumed". Entertainment at an altitude of just over 2,100 metres, but above all many job opportunities because between the kitchen brigade, dining room staff, artists for entertainment and amusement, staff and security, there are about fifty employees. "For those seeking greater intimacy we have also created a 'private room' with an adjoining wine cellar with over 150 labels and a dedicated waiter". The club will be in full swing during the weeks of high season and during the period of the Olympic and Para-Olympic competitions "for lunch and dinner with live music and singing while looking down on Cortina from above" emphasises Baccuini.
Part of this experience is the Faloria cable car, which will be in operation until 3 May and will take sportsmen and women up to the Mountain Club with cocktails included in the ticket. In the evenings, the lift will be open every Wednesday and Saturday. Over the past year, the Faloria cable car facilities and lifts have undergone a complete overhaul of their electromechanical functions and the removal of architectural barriers, making the spaces fully accessible also to people with disabilities. Restyling, by studio Gris+Dainese Architetti, for the cable car valley station, while the mountain hut is at the centre of a major renovation to create a new bar at slope level. The renovation work continues with the redevelopment of the Rio Gere departure station, the new Ski Bar and the Old Tondi Station, completely renovated and reinterpreted in a contemporary key. "We wanted to offer an ever more modern and inclusive skiing and mountain experience," explains Renzo Minella, general manager of Faloria-Cristallo. "This Olympic season sees us ready to give our best: a renovated area, renovations that will last over time and the possibility to ski all winter long, continuing to experience the mountains in the name of Faloria's tradition of hospitality.
The Cortina Club on the ground floor offers a contemporary and informal ambience to go beyond the usual 'quick stop' to eat before getting back on the skis. There is a cafeteria, American-style fast food and a diner in an ambience of Ampezzo wood. More refined is the menu at Meraviglioso, a restaurant also open in the evenings every Wednesday and Saturday with convivial appetisers, gourmet pizzas, iconic first and second courses, as well as weekly specials that renew the experience. The strong point are the panoramic windows but also the possibility of organising private events, corporate dinners, dedicated ski races with the illuminated slope on request. There will also be smart formats such as pizza & bubbles. Entertainment will include events and performances with resident DJs also in collaboration with lifestyle brands: House of PNA - Peroni; Settimana Bianca - Red Bull; Tonicx - Pernod Ricard; Orange Wave - Campari; 24Auras - Ploom; Allez Allez Rosé - Ferrari Trento; Dame un Brr - Brancamenta; Weekend Après-Ski - Campari. Finally Ford Italia collaborates with the Faloria Cristallo area and the Super G is for the 2025/2026 season an Official automotive partner.
