The signing ceremony took place in the Aula Fornasa on the Sant’Agostino Campus in the presence of the Rector of the University of Bergamo, Sergio Cavalieri; the Vice-Provost for International Affairs at the University of Ottawa, Patrice Corriveau, the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Bergamo responsible for relations between the Municipality and the University, Sergio Gandi, and representatives from the Canadian Embassy in Italia.
Strengthening collaboration
During the meeting, representatives from the two universities and from Italian and Canadian institutions spoke on the topic of strengthening collaboration between Canada and Italia, highlighting the role of academic and international cooperation. The second part of the event was devoted to outlining current activities and potential avenues for expanding collaboration in the field of research.
Mobility for students and teaching staff
The agreement will also facilitate student and staff mobility, strengthening ties between UniBg and the University of Ottawa through semester-long exchanges, summer schools and joint activities. The fields covered by the collaboration include: engineering, psychology, spatial studies, sociology and law. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and the Student Mobility Agreement represents a further step in the development of academic relations between the University of Bergamo and the University of Ottawa, from which the entire academic community will benefit.
