The US Mint is putting a one-dollar coin bearing Trump’s likeness on sale
To mark a historic milestone in American history, the United States Mint has issued a $1 coin. The obverse features the incumbent President, Donald J. Trump
On one side is a portrait of President Donald Trump in a pose reminiscent of his official second-term presidential photograph, with a furrowed brow, alongside the inscriptions ‘LIBERTY’, ‘IN GOD WE TRUST’ and ‘1776 ~ 2026’; on the reverse is the Presidential Seal, depicting an eagle clutching an olive branch and a bundle of arrows, with a shield on its breast and a banner bearing the inscription “E PLURIBUS UNUM”. The United States Mint has put the Trump commemorative one-dollar coin on sale from today, 2 September, at a price of $61 for a set of 25 and $154.50 for a set of 100. However, “these coins are also in circulation, so check your change” is the warning posted on the United States Mint’s X profile.
“To celebrate a historic American milestone – as stated in the description on the US Mint’s website – the 250th-anniversary commemorative coin, issued by the United States Mint, was struck to honour 250 years of America’s rich heritage”. The coins, struck at the Philadelphia Mint, have not been put into circulation; however, they may be used as legal tender.
