Veneto is a film set; extras are being sought in Bibione

The study is aimed at adults aged between 18 and 75, preferably from areas near Bibione, with as natural an appearance as possible (no piercings, visible tattoos, tattooed eyebrows or unusual hairstyles). Availability on several days in October (potentially for several weeks’ work) would be welcome. We are particularly interested in people who are familiar with fishing, working in the fields or working with animals.

We are also looking for children aged between 6 and 12 who are small and slender in build, and who are not afraid of being out in the countryside or around farmyard animals. All children must be accompanied by a parent.

Cadore, on the other hand, has lost Un passo dal cielo, which will not be returning for a ninth series. The decision, officially announced by Rai in early July, had in fact been foreshadowed by the absence of the film crews from the series’ locations in San Vito. The series that has now come to an end had been on air for 15 years, as one of the state broadcaster’s most successful programmes, and had generated a significant economic impact through production costs and related activity, including ‘drama tourism’ by fans, first in South Tyrol (for the first five seasons) and then in the Belluno area.

The knock-on effects of film and TV production are also felt in the labour market: in Veneto, the net change in private-sector employment for the period January–July 2026 was positive (+79,600 jobs) and labour demand during this period rose (+2%), as did contract terminations (+3%); however, both these trends are also influenced by the marked increase in very short-term contracts within the film production sector.
