Vespucci World Tour and Italy Village project honoured at Best Event Awards 2025

Five months after the conclusion of its world tour, the project World Tour Vespucci - Villaggio Italia, the brainchild of Defence Minister Guido Crosetto, supported by Defence and eleven ministries and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, was the protagonist of the BEA - Best Event Awards, the "Oscars" of the Italian and international events world with the "BEA World", just held in Rome at the Auditorium Parco Della Musica Ennio Morricone. Nave Amerigo Vespucci, is currently at the Navy Arsenal in La Spezia for an important work stopover to preserve its efficiency, safety and timeless charm.

The project was awarded a global prize by an international jury that chose itfrom among 470 entries from 40 countries, winning gold as: best public institution event, best B2B (business to business) event for the economic return generated, and best event in the non-profit and Corporate Social Responsibility category for the activities implemented with the Ministry of Disability throughout the Mediterranean phase with the aim of raising awareness of the rights and potential of people with disabilities, opposing all forms of discrimination and enhancing inclusion through the telling of good practices.

For the project, produced in public-private partnership by Difesa Servizi S.p.A.the in-house company of the Ministry of Defence that enhances the assets of the Armed Forces, and Ninetynine, an independent Italian agency specialising in the governance of highly complex global projects, this is the third consecutive year of BEA victories since 2023, from the departure ceremony of the Amerigo Vespucci ship on 1 July 2023 from Genoa, to its return home on 10 June 2025, also in Genoa, winning 22 awards (12 national and 10 world) as best event.

The Vespucci World Tour - Italy Village combined the traditional training and Naval Diplomacy activities of the Navy's Training Ship with the promotion of Made in Italy excellence through the Italy Village, a multi-year travelling mini expo that promoted and narrated Italy's excellence to the world.

For the 2025 edition, the jury also awarded the project for the Mediterranean phase during which Nave Vespucci and the IN Italia Village took the story of what has become a 'world phenomenon' to 9 Italian cities, an epic journey around the globe to tell the story of the beauty, history, culture and values of Italy, appreciated all over the world.
