Central Italy: Another very hot and muggy day with maximum temperatures of up to 37–38 degrees. Localised thunderstorms over the Apennines and neighbouring areas. South: Today, following a sunny, hot and muggy morning along the coasts, there will be afternoon showers in the mountainous areas.
WEDNESDAY 1 JULY:
North: Thunderstorm activity will increase across most regions today. Significant hailstorms and strong gusts of wind are expected. Central Italy: After a hot, humid and sunny morning, thunderstorms will break out in the afternoon over the Apennines and neighbouring areas along the Adriatic coast.
South: A mainly sunny day with moderate summer heat. A few afternoon showers are expected in the Apennines.
THURSDAY 2 JULY:
North: A day with a locally stormy morning, particularly in Romagna. Conditions will subsequently improve. Sunny across the rest of the region.
Centre: Today will see numerous thunderstorms with hail affecting most regions. Temperatures will fall.
South: The day will see a gradual deterioration in the weather, with thunderstorms in Campania and Basilicata; less likely elsewhere.
