BMW chose the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este to unveil its new creation, the Concept Skytop. This distinctly sporty yet elegant two-seater roadster combines a muscular body. Both the interior and exterior of the concept car feature warm monochrome colours combined with exclusive materials.

The engineers at BMW for the Concept Skytop have come up with a vehicle that inspires the desire to travel. The muscular surfaces are defined by a few precise lines that direct the volume of the vehicle towards the rear. Goodbye conventional door handles, which are replaced by wings discreetly integrated into the door shoulders.

At the front, the prominent, slender bonnet stands out, while the kidney grille is illuminated and the rear section retracted. The silhouette, even at first glance, denotes how the new concept car is reminiscent of the BMW Z8 roadster.

The headlights of the Bmw Concept Skytop are LED type, and are mounted on milled aluminium brackets specially developed for this concept car. The clean, purist design allows all lighting functions to be consolidated in a single installation space. The flat, defined shape of the tail lights completes the overall appearance of the Skytop.

The leather-covered roll cage, combined with side fins on the B-pillar and a fully retractable rear window, allows for maximum enjoyment of the open-top driving experience. The two removable roof parts, also covered in leather, can be stored in a special compartment in the boot.

Luxury dominates the interior of the Bmw Concept Skytop: leather surfaces with brogue-style details match the red-brown tones of the seats. The interior surfaces were made in the saddlery at the Bmw plant in Dingolfing.

The Bmw Concept Skytop shares similarities with the Z8. In addition to the design, this also applies to the engines. In fact, powering the concept car is a V8. A thermal dream in the age of battery-powered cars
