Connecting existing social initiatives with new supporters. A facilitator role. This is the aim of the Milanese association Rivoluzione Generosa, chaired by Diana De Marchi, a teacher, city councillor and chair of the equal opportunities commission of the municipality of Milan. "We believe that generosity is a fundamental value to be affirmed in a society that suffers from inequality and indifference," says De Marchi. "We are also aware that the spirit of initiative is sometimes discouraged by the difficulty of implementing solidarity projects: here, we want to break down these barriers, intervening as facilitators.
The connections
How did this desire for 'connection' materialise? At the Società Umanitaria, social initiatives have been presented in recent days. Some are already rooted in the Milanese territory, such as Spazior 3R, an association founded in 2016 that accompanies women victims of violence towards economic independence through tailoring workshops and the reuse of fabrics. In 2023, the association became a social enterprise. 'From the very beginning,' it is explained on their website, 'we have focused on training for Italian and foreign women with different needs, united by the thread of tailoring interpreted with a view to sustainability'.
Another initiative presented is that of Paolo Plebani, founder of Goodify, a platform that allows donations to be tracked. In this way, solidarity actions can be activated and monitored. Not only that. It is possible to give continuity to solidarity actions.
