Linea d'Ombra, 30th anniversary in the sign of the 'Fabulous Young Men' of our cinema
From 8 to 15 November in Salerno, the festival that awards feature films, short films and university audiovisual works from all over the world
With the "fabulous young people" - that is, actors Samuele Carrino, Carlotta Gamba, Aurora Giovinazzo, Ludovica Nasti and Beatrice Puccilli - the 30th edition of the Linea d'Ombra Festival officially kicks off in Salerno on Saturday 8 November. It starts from the future, looking towards the new generation of Italian cinema: an ideal passing of the baton that dialogues with the history and memory of thirty years of audiovisual research. A sold-out edition for the juries, with over 500 entries in the two competition sections, which marks a success even before it begins and which promises to be, more than a celebration, a new beginning.
To celebrate this symbolic anniversary, Linea d'Ombra Festival, conceived and directed by Peppe D'Antonio with Boris Sollazzo, will propose until 15 November a dense eight-day event with over seventy events including cinema, music, books, visual arts and education. Each appointment will be an opportunity to question the profound meaning of Rights/Rights, in particular the "right to know", the theme of this 30th anniversary. A right that becomes storytelling, but also vision and investigation.
A red thread linking the memory of the past thirty years to the desire for knowledge that animates the present. Because knowledge is understanding, choice, participation. The venues of this symbolic journey are precisely the three competitions: Passaggi d'Europa_30, with six European fiction feature films; CortoEuropa_30, with twenty-one European fiction, animation and documentary short films; and UniFest, with ten audiovisual works produced by university students from all over the world.
